Present Moment Awe

Grey shroud, dense fog, no hills in view, fine spit of rain today. All is buttoned down. It looked so gloomy from indoors.

Outside the gloom transforms into a magical rain forest feel. The haunting whistle of the Varied Thrush echoes throughout the Fir Forest our subdivision was built in decades ago. A Robin symphony is interspersed with wren trills.

In the dense fog my footfalls have a softer sound. This cocooned world calls me deeper into the moment. I slow my pace. My sore knee helps with that.

A fast walk seemed sacrilegious.
